The Polish Post Office Museum, a branch of the Museum of Gdańsk, is housed in the building where, on 1 September 1939, Polish postal workers defended their post office for more than fourteen hours. The exhibition tells not only the story of that day but also of the entire Polish community in the Free City of Gdańsk. The audio guide takes visitors through the exhibition room by room, presenting the defence of the post office, the stories of the postal workers and their families, and the post-war fate of the defenders. The recordings are available in Polish and English, and a version with audio description conveys what the interiors and exhibits look like.
