The Sądecki Park Etnograficzny (Nowy Sącz Ethnographic Park) in Nowy Sącz, run by the Muzeum Ziemi Sądeckiej (Museum of the Sącz Land), is one of the most fascinating open-air museums in Poland. It showcases the wooden architecture and traditional culture of the four ethnographic groups of the Sącz region: the Sącz Lachs, the Pogórzanie, the Sącz Highlanders and the Lemkos. Among its dozens of buildings are peasant farmsteads, a nobleman's manor house, a Lemko Eastern-rite church and old craft workshops. The audio guide leads you through the open-air museum, telling the story of the everyday life, work and customs of the region's former inhabitants. With it, a stroll between the farmsteads becomes a true journey back in time.
