In Wielka Nieszawka near Toruń you will find Poland's first open-air museum devoted to Olęder settlement. The Olęders – originally newcomers from the Low Countries and Frisia, Mennonites who were free to practise their faith in the tolerant Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth – brought the land of the Vistula valley under cultivation for centuries. The mobile app works like an audio guide on your phone. It leads you around farmsteads relocated from nearby villages, historic houses and farm buildings, and the Mennonite cemetery, telling the story of the daily life, work and customs of the former inhabitants. Download it from the App Store or Google Play and explore at your own pace.
