Vilhelm Hammershøi, a Danish painter born in Copenhagen in 1864, is sometimes called “the Danish Vermeer” – his paintings recall the work of the 17th-century Dutch masters. He most often painted the interiors of his Copenhagen flat at Strandgade 30. The exhibition “Vilhelm Hammershøi. Light and Silence” at the Muzeum Narodowe w Poznaniu (National Museum in Poznań) was the first monographic presentation of his work in Poland. We created a mobile app for Android and iOS phones that served as an audio guide to the exhibition. The recordings introduced the paintings one by one and told the story of the artist’s life. The audio guide was available in Polish and English.
