Osiek nad Notecią is a village of several thousand inhabitants, lying halfway between Bydgoszcz and Piła. Several decades ago, perfectly preserved graves several thousand years old were discovered there. The find was so valuable that when the archaeologists had completed their work, the site was turned into an archaeological reserve, which over time was expanded with an ethnographic section, thus creating the Museum of Folk Culture. The audio guide lets you explore both the ethnographic and the archaeological sections. Homesteads, farm buildings, an old church and wayside shrines were moved to Osiek from various places in northern Greater Poland, Krajna, Pałuki and the area around the Noteć Forest. The archaeological exhibition is an additional attraction.
