Czechowice-Dziedzice is a town in Cieszyn Silesia, created in 1951 by merging two villages with medieval roots. From the late 19th century Dziedzice developed as a railway junction and industrial centre – until 2020 it was home to Poland’s last match factory. We created the “Czechowicka Skarbnica” (Czechowice Treasury) app for Android and iOS phones for the Municipal Cultural Centre as part of the Polish-Slovak project “Open Museums”. The recordings allow visitors to explore independently at their own pace – with families with children, individual visitors and people with disabilities in mind. The audio guide is available in Polish, English and Slovak, with audio description for blind and partially sighted visitors and a version in Polish Sign Language.
