Since 2021 the Muzeum Bursztynu (Amber Museum) in Gdańsk has been housed in the Great Mill – a building in the Old Town erected by the Teutonic Knights around 1350. The permanent exhibition presents amber both as a product of nature and as an artistic material. Among the most valuable exhibits are inclusions, including a gecko trapped in Baltic amber, and an amber chess set from around 1690. We created a mobile app for Android and iOS phones with audio description of the permanent exhibition. The recordings describe the displays and the key exhibits, so that blind and partially sighted visitors can explore the museum independently and at their own pace. The app is available in Polish.
