Kościan is a town in the Greater Poland region, situated on the Obra Canal, with town rights dating back to the 13th century. In the 15th century it was known for cloth-making – King Casimir IV Jagiellon granted Kościan cloth the first trademark in Polish history. We created a mobile app for Android and iOS phones that invites visitors on a walk around the town and tells the story of its history and landmarks. Thanks to GPS, each recording starts at the right point along the route, and selected stops are enhanced with augmented reality (AR). The audio guide is available in Polish, English and German, as well as in a version with audio description for blind and partially sighted visitors.
