The exhibition “And the Saints Are Silent…” at the Museum of Warmia and Masuria in Olsztyn presents wooden folk sculptures from wayside shrines in Warmia. They include images of Christ, the Madonna and Child and the Pietà, as well as patron saints – Anthony, Roch, Valentine, Florian, Nicholas and John of Nepomuk – and a crucifix by Józef Weinert, known as “the last saint-carver of Warmia”. The exhibition sums up a two-year project researching and documenting Warmian folk sculpture. We prepared an audio guide with 47 recordings devoted to the individual sculptures. It was created in cooperation with the Olsztyn Association of the Deaf. It is available in Polish and English, and a mobile app can also be used at the castle.
