Rogów is a small settlement located about 40 km east of Łódź. The historic narrow-gauge railway line, recently brought back into service, and the extensive 19th-century palace and manor farm complex are in themselves reason enough to go there. While there, you also should not miss the exceptional Arboretum.
Rogów’s garden full of trees and shrubs is one of the most valuable places of its kind in Europe. The forest arboretum was established in 1925. Even before the war, around 100 species of non-native trees were planted there. By the early 1960s an alpine garden was completed, and over the years the centre also gained greenhouses, where coast redwoods, cork oaks and charming banana plants, among others, are grown.
Today, in the Rogów arboretum you can relax among nearly 900 different plant species and varieties from all over the world, and stroll by the water and among the rocks. And finally, you can deepen your knowledge with our audio guides.
