Włodawa, situated on the Bug River where Poland, Belarus and Ukraine meet, was for centuries a meeting place of three cultures: Catholic, Orthodox and Jewish. The most precious legacy of the Jewish community is the synagogue complex with the Baroque Great Synagogue, the Small Synagogue and the kahal house – one of the best preserved in Poland. The audio guide leads you through the synagogue interiors and the museum's exhibitions, telling the story of the religious life, customs and daily routines of Włodawa's Jews, as well as the town's multicultural history. It is a calm, reflective visit in which everyone can move at their own pace.
