The audio guide to the castle in Kwidzyn is a treat for lovers of Gothic architecture and militaria as well as for enthusiasts of nature and ethnography. The castle was built in the 14th century for the Pomesanian Chapter, that is, the canons who assisted the bishop residing in Kwidzyn. Two wings of the stronghold, with many beautiful interiors, have survived to this day. The most interesting feature, however, is the unique dansker – a tall tower connected to the castle by a 54-metre covered arcaded bridge; the dansker served as a latrine and as a tower of last defence. While exploring the castle interiors with headphones on, it is worth noting, among other things, the brick furnace of the medieval heating system and the beautiful vaults. The permanent exhibitions are devoted to painting and decorative arts; particularly interesting are the displays presenting the art and material culture of the Lower Vistula region (Dolne Powiśle) and the nature of northern Poland. The museum in Kwidzyn is a branch of the Malbork Castle Museum.
