An hour-long walk around Zamość's Old Town takes us back to distant times and lets us admire historic monuments that the most beautiful cities of sunny Italy would not be ashamed of.We begin the tour at the town hall in the charming Market Square. There we learn about the beginnings of the town and also admire the colourful Armenian townhouses. The audio guide then leads us through the streets around the Market Square along a fairly short loop. Along the route are, among other things, a distinctive synagogue, the monumental cathedral, the Art Nouveau townhouse where the wonderful poet Bolesław Leśmian lived, and Marek Grechuta's family home.Of course, everything is overseen by the town's founder, Hetman Jan Zamojski, whose equestrian statue we will see next to the cathedral.
