Jahrhunderthalle, Centennial Hall, Hala Ludowa and finally Hala Stulecia – these are the various names of one monumental building that is the pride of Wrocław. Because of its artistic value, the hall was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2006, which further increased the number of tourists wishing to see it. Anyone interested can tour the hall with an audio guide available in several language versions.Centennial Hall has stood in Wrocław's Szczytnicki Park for more than a hundred years. The idea of building it emerged at the beginning of the last century, when it was decided to hold a great exhibition in Wrocław presenting the economic – and not only economic – achievements of Silesia as one of the provinces of the German Empire. The enormous hall was to be a symbol of its dynamic development. The building was designed in the modernist style by the local architect and urban planner Max Berg. His work went down in history. Thanks to the audio guide, we learn about all the circumstances of the hall's creation and its construction secrets. The audio guide leads us through impressive corridors and nooks and crannies, finally revealing the hall itself, which amazes with its size and technological solutions. It is worth stressing, however, that this is an attraction for everyone, not just for engineers!
