After the Second World War, more than a dozen modern buildings were erected in Poznań, which today are regarded as striking examples of modernism in architecture. Our audio guide begins near the Kaponiera Roundabout, beside which stand the first two interesting buildings – the Hotel Mercure (originally the Merkury) and the Jowita student residence. We then head towards Poznań’s Old Market Square, seeing, among other things, university buildings, former department stores and office blocks, led by the famous Okrąglak. The last stop is on the Market Square, in front of the controversial Arsenal.
