Łódź has a very particular history, shaped mainly by the 19th-century industrial boom that turned a village into an urban behemoth within a short time. The picture of that Łódź is made up of austere workers' settlements and the opulent palaces of factory owners. The latter, such as the Herbst Palace, neglected during the period of the Polish People's Republic, are regaining their former splendour and are open to visitors with an audio guide. The Herbst Palace Museum is located near the workers' estate of Księży Młyn. With the audio guide we can explore the carefully restored palace interiors, dazzling in their opulence, discovering not only exquisite objects but also the colourful stories of their former owners.Next to the palace lies an equally painstakingly restored park, where we can take a break from the museum's attractions. Afterwards, however, it is worth stopping by the former palace stables, where works by master painters are on display. The collection is truly impressive! The Herbst Palace Museum audio guide is also available in a version for blind visitors.
